Overview

The Operations Building, officially Building S84, is a historical cornerstone to Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum’s campus. Originally serving as administrative offices, barracks, an aerological tower, and aircraft control during its early years, this historic building played an important role during the December 7, 1941, attack.

Abandoned after decades of use, the Operations Building fell into disrepair until the Museum launched an ambitious restoration project in 2012. Reopened to the public in May 2022, this historic building is a vital part of every guest’s Pearl Harbor experience.

Visitors can begin with the Top of the Tower Tour, a guided journey up the Ford Island Control Tower for breathtaking views and powerful stories of December 7, 1941. The building also features the Rooftop Terrace, Firehouse Exhibit, and Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust Library and Archive, each offering unique insights into the site’s history and legacy.
