June PHAMily Fun Day
PHAMily Fun Day
Join us on June 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for PHAMily Fun Day: Honor Our Heroes, a community celebration of the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of our nation’s heroes. Rooted in one of our core values: Honor the Past and Inspire the Future, this special day will offer fun, inspiration, and an opportunity for reflection for the entire ohana.
As a special feature, Hangar 79 will serve as a filming location for “The 100TH: Seeds of Aloha,” a new feature-length documentary honoring the Japanese American soldiers of Hawai‘i’s 100th Infantry Battalion who served in World War II. During this commemorative experience, medallions will be placed on a large floor map of Italy, France, and Germany to honor the 716 fallen soldiers of the 100th Infantry Battalion and the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Surviving veterans may also be honored with medallions upon request.
As with all of our PHAMily Fun Days, you can expect a variety of engaging, family-friendly activities—open cockpit experiences, kite flying, a museum-wide scavenger hunt, and new for June, RC flight simulator training!
We’ll also be joined by special exhibitors, including the Sons and Daughters of the 442nd, Club 100, the Army Reserves, and representatives from the Honouliuli National Historic Site. Through their stories and displays, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the service and strength of our veterans across generations.
PHAMily Fun Day: Honor Our Heroes is an opportunity to explore, connect with history, honor those who’ve served, and inspire the next generation to carry forward the values that shape our nation.
