On March, 16, 2023, the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum celebrated a historic day with the official opening of its newest exhibit Land, Sea, Air: Maui in Wartime. A traditional Hawaiian blessing was held to commemorate the opening of the exhibit, which shares the stories of the Island’s military and citizens working together during this significant period in history. Visitors to the new exhibit will learn about the military training that took place at Pu‘unene Field during WWII and throughout Maui, read about the courageous stories of the men, women and children, and view different artifacts, video and photos designed to transport guests back to the 1940s.
