Six months after December 7, 1941, Japan launched Operation K—an ambitious mission aimed at halting U.S. recovery and reigniting fear across the Hawaiian Islands.

Clean-up after December 7, 1941, began immediately, and reconnaissance on those operations was crucial to Imperial Japanese forces. As the new war progressed, plans were made to discover and disrupt those efforts. The Hawaiian Islands remained a very real target throughout 1942, not only for Japan, but in the minds of Hawaii citizens as well. Learn about the operation that sought to not only disrupt critical recovery efforts with new aviation technology, but also to again create fear and panic in Hawaii.
