Overview
| Through 3 engaging activities, students investigate the design and function of aircraft. They first identify the major aircraft components in a brief 2D assembly activity before applying their knowledge to iconic warbirds. Students then explore the true story of Martin Vitousek’s daring escape during the Pearl Harbor attack to understand the purpose and operation of aircraft controls. The experience concludes with an up-close examination of a real aircraft, where students observe how control mechanisms and control surfaces work together to enable flight. |
