Overview
From Pearl Harbor to Peace explores Hawaiʻi’s pivotal role in World War II—from the attack that drew the United States into the Pacific War to the enduring partnership between Hawaiʻi and Japan today. Students examine the islands’ unique cultural heritage, immigration history, strategic location, and wartime experience to better understand how Hawaiʻi became both a crossroads of conflict and a bridge to reconciliation.

Thanks to generous funding from the Freeman Foundation, Takitani Foundation, and Col. Robert F. Szul Scholarship Fund, the Museum is able to extend Virtual Classroom Visits for FREE to all State of Hawaii Department of Education classrooms while funding lasts.
Private schools and classrooms on the mainland can still access Virtual Classroom Visits for a charge of $100 per class.
