overview
As the longest-running program in our summer academy series, this academy for girls entering grades 6–8 prepares the next generation of women in aviation through rigorous, hands-on learning and career exploration. Students will develop an aviation mindset through pilot training concepts, hands-on skill building, and immersive flight scenarios using industry-grade simulators. Along the way, they will connect with women working across the aviation industry during a career-focused excursion, gaining firsthand insight into the pathways, opportunities, and leadership roles that await them.
Program hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Students should arrive at the museum no earlier than 8:15 a.m. and be picked up no later than 4:15 p.m. We cannot accommodate early arrivals or late pickups.

Scholarship Opportunities
The Col. Robert F. Szul Scholarship is providing two scholarships for the upcoming 2026 Flight School for Girls Summer Camp.
The Col. Robert F. Szul Scholarship welcomes applications from girls who are:
in grade 6 -8
able to attend an in-person summer program, July 13-17, 2026
Deadline to submit applications is June 1, 2026. Scholarship awardees are guaranteed a slot in the upcoming 2026 summer program – no prior registration needed.
Students may seek assistance from a parent/guardian/teacher to submit this application.
Thanks to generous donors from our For Love of Country Gala, there are two scholarships available to cover the program fee, meals and materials for the 2026 Flight School for Girls summer programs.
