Discover Your Future In Aviation

A Career Day Event

On Saturday, February 18th, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum hosted its inaugural “Discover Your Future in Aviation” career day event, in partnership with Women in Aviation Aloha Chapter.

The vision for this event was to provide a unique opportunity for all aviation enthusiasts to learn about potential career paths in the aviation industry and introduce them to the resources available here in Hawaii. As part of Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum’s mission to foster future aviators, this event was focused on outreach to our local community to encourage and support people of all ages who are passionate about aviation.

Exhibitors ranging from school groups, aviation companies, military recruiters and Museum scholarship winners, all scattered around the Museum grounds, were ready to speak with those interested in a career in aviation.  We saw guests with a wide range of experience in aviation approaching each booth seeking advice from our exhibitors. Throughout the day, a variety of engaging activities took place that allowed attendees to get up close and personal with some of the museum’s aircraft exhibits, experience flight simulation technology, and even sit in a few open cockpit aircraft!

One of the highlights of the day was a presentation, Q&A, and book signing with Major General Mari K. Eder, an author, leader, and retired Army Major General. Eder’s talk was inspiring and covered details about her most recent book, “The Girls Who Stepped Out of Line”.

For many of the young attendees, this event was a valuable opportunity to explore the vast array of potential careers in aviation and learn more about what they can do to prepare for a career in this exciting and rapidly evolving industry. The Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum’s commitment to inspiring and supporting future aviation professionals will remain at the forefront of our mission.
