Title: National Campaign Director

Classification: Exempt; Full-time
Expected Hours: 40 hrs weekly
Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 annually – placement in pay range commensurate with experience, with relocation support considered

POSITION OVERVIEW
Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum seeks a dynamic and experienced fundraising and marketing leader to serve as National Campaign Director for our “Remember Pearl Harbor” national capital campaign. This transformative campaign will fund critical restoration projects, education programs, and new visitor experiences that honor the legacy of Pearl Harbor and inspire future generations.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished advancement professional, equal parts strategist and closer, who thrives on building relationships, shaping national campaigns, and connecting donors to mission. While the position is preferably based on Oʻahu, strong West Coast candidates open to regular travel are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the planning, management, and execution of the Museum’s national capital campaign.
- Delivers on a strategy to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, foundations, and corporations
- Personally solicits and closes six- and seven-figure gifts.
- Manages campaign budgets, timelines, materials, and progress reports.
- Serves as primary liaison with campaign consultants and ensure alignment across museum departments.
- Integrates campaign fundraising efforts with ongoing Philanthropic development efforts for seamless donor stewardship
Donor Engagement & Stewardship
- Builds and maintains a national prospect pipeline and moves-management system.
- Plans and hosts cultivation and recognition events for donors and prospects.
- Provides timely reporting to campaign chairs, the CEO, and the Board on progress toward goals.
Museum Collaboration
- Develops and manages the fundraising and marketing strategy for the “Remember Pearl Harbor” campaign in alignment with internal stakeholders and departments.
- Produces compelling print, digital, and social media content highlighting campaign milestones and donor impact.
- Ensures campaign branding and messaging aligns across museum communications.
- Partners with internal and external teams to elevate the Museum’s national profile.
- Collaborates across the museum to align donor recognition with curators, exhibition designers, and operational staff to align campaign activities and donor recognition, and with capital improvements.
- Translates exhibition and restoration priorities into compelling donor cases for support.
Qualifications:
- 10–15 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, including major-gift and capital-campaign leadership.
- Proven track record securing six- and seven-figure gifts from individuals, corporations, and/or foundations.
- Experience managing budgets, staff, and consultants.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to provide two (2) to three (3) examples of demonstrated campaign funding experiences you personally participated in or lead.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
- Knowledge of museum operations, aviation history, or cultural institutions preferred.
