Hangar Talk With Ted Edwards

Fighter Ace Pilot: Stanley “Swede” Vejtasa

Join us for a fascinating Hangar talk with Ted Edwards, noted historian and author of the riveting biography, Seven At Santa Cruz, The Life of Fighter Ace Stanley “Swede” Vejtasa.

The book details how Stanley “Swede” Vejtasa became a World War II naval hero, flying heroic missions during the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle of Santa Cruz, where he single-handedly shot down two Japanese dive-bombers and five torpedo bombers attacking the USS Enterprise.

He was rightly recommended for the Medal of Honor, which Admiral Thomas Kinkaid denied.
