Sacrifice for Freedom®: World War II in the Pacific Student & Teacher Institute, offers the opportunity for 16 student and teacher teams from Hawaii and the U.S. mainland to study World War II in the Pacific. This program, based on National History Day’s Normandy: Sacrifice for Freedom® Albert H. Small Student & Teacher Institute, employs a model of student-teacher collaborative learning.
This partnership brings together National History Day and the Pearl Harbor Historic Site Partners, including Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, Pacific Historic Parks, USS Missouri Memorial Association, and Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum at Pearl Harbor. The project leverages each partner’s unique assets and access to national and local resources to provide a unique and powerful student-teacher collaborative learning experience.
