George H.W. Bush Exhibit Support – Restoration of the TBM Avenger, the type of aircraft President George H.W. Bush flew in combat, and review of historical publications, photos and videos that capture the events surrounding his military service to design and build an exhibit honoring his legacy.
From the pilot seat to the Oval Office– George H.W. Bush was truly one of “Our Greatest Generation” heroes. Like so many young men of his time, he stepped forward when our nation and our freedom were threatened. We invite you to join us at the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum in an effort to cherish his memory.
We have two aircraft in hand to design an exhibit that honors Bush’s amazing legacy- the “Bush Stearman” that Bush flew in training, along with a TBM Avenger, the type of aircraft Bush flew in combat. With your help, we will continue our work to complete the restoration of the TBM Avenger, an aircraft that will be central to our story. Our curator will continue to review historical publications, photos and videos that capture the events surrounding the military service of President George H.W. Bush, using these artifacts to create a more personal view of our nation’s 41st President. How fitting to display the “Bush Stearman” and a TBM Avenger in authentic WWII hangars that withstood the 7 December 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, the act of war that triggered our nation’s entry into the global fight.
Please donate now to help us share the spirit and patriotism of President George H. W. Bush with this extraordinary exhibit honoring his legacy.
