Pre-Kindergarten Field Trips
Airplanes! is an exciting one-hour preschool STEM program that introduces students to the wonders of flight.
The junior aviators begin their journey by exploring several parts of our colorful hangar filled with vintage aircraft, and “fly” to a special place on the museum floor where they learn about a curious girl named Angela. Vocabulary, sentence building, brainstorming, and listening guide them through Angela’s adventure.
Children use observation skills to search for airplanes up and airplanes down, and then hone their skills by flying their planes — perhaps even reaching a target! Additional aviation-related activities give students a chance to use math skills, and everyone finishes with a sticker to celebrate their visit.
Airplanes! is offered for groups of 12-20 students. Chaperone requirement: 1 adult for 4 students.
Program cost: $5/student; teachers and required chaperones are free. Additional adults in the group will be charged $5 each. (Please note: This fee does not provide general admission to the museum.)
