In collaboration with Seattle’s Museum of Flight, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum is proud to host Hawaiʻiʻs only Aviation Learning Center. Using sophisticated Redbird technology and a world-class curriculum, students are introduced to a life-long love of flight in Hawaiʻi. Each carefully designed learning station develops a different skill rooted in STEM, culminating in an extraordinary flight over the Hawaiian Islands in our state-of-the-art Jay Velocity simulators.
Students recognize the duality of our unique mission as both an aviation and World War II museum. While one half of the visit is dedicated to the history of our storied aircraft, the other brings the power of flight to life in our state-of-the-art Aviation Learning Center. Time is equally divided between our most powerful programs in one all-encompassing experience.
*Due to capacity limitations, any groups requesting an Aviation Learning Center experience, totals over 36 students, and is limited to a visit timeframe of 3 hours or less, will be redirected to the Historic Hangar Tours Only program option. Scheduling a separate day for an Aviation Learning Center Only experience is recommended.
Explore aviation through the very aerial battlefield in which World War II began for the United States. This unique experience begins with a contextualization of the Attack on Pearl Harbor, and continues on through American aviation history to the present day. Students discover this rich history through guided tours and a rotation of activities surrounding the aircraft and aviators that passed through Hawaiʻi and into history.
K-2 Experience*
Identify the parts of an airplane that can lift a million pounds of metal into the sky. A quick deconstruction activity prepares students for a trip to the ALC hangar and our Cessna 150B, where they map out the responsibility of each major section of an airworthy aircraft.
In addition to our Standard Fledging Flight program, students have the opportunity to hear the thrilling tale of Martin Vitousek and his escape from the Pearl Harbor Attack, and a tour of our famous warbirds – which includes Martin’s Aeronca 65TC!

The general public is advised to use “Pearl Harbor Visitor Center” as the GPS destination when visiting Pearl Harbor. Our Museum is located on a military base; non-military visitors will not be able to drive on and must take the shuttle bus from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center.

We recognize the proper use of the Hawaiian language, including the okina and the kahako;
however, these have been omitted from this website for the best online experience for our visitors.
