Title: Café Cashier
Reports to: Restaurant Supervisor
Department: Café

Classification: Non-Exempt (Temporary Hire)
Expected Hours: 20 – 30 hrs weekly (part time) 
Pay: $15.00 – $16.00/hr.   

Job Summary:

The café cashier assists customers with placing of food & beverage orders, processes all food transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position plays a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists all customers with placing food/beverage orders while using a POS system
  • Handles cash/credit transactions with customers
  • Issues receipts, refunds, change or tickets
  • Redeems coupons
  • Resolves customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
  • Greets customers when entering or leaving establishments
  • Maintains clean and tidy areas
  • Keeps reports of transactions
  • Bags, boxes or wraps packages/food products
  • Assists with delivery of food to customers
  • Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Other duties as assigned

qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cash handling experience (6 months)

Physical demands:

  • Requires standing, walking, holding/carrying, reaching, twisting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, kneeling/squatting, sitting, climbing stairs/ladders.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs on a regular basis.

Compensation:

Range $15.00 – $16.00 hourly, commensurate with job-related experience, skills and competencies.
