Title: Accounting Assistant
Reports to: Finance Manager

Classification:Non-Exempt/Part-time
Expected Hours: Part Time
Pay:$18.00 – $19.50 per hour
Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager to track, report, analyze all organizational revenue streams including but not limited to admissions, museum store, café, education programs, and donations. The Accounting Assistant will support and assist the Finance Manager with administrative and project responsibilities.  The Accounting Assistant position reports to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to the Finance Manager and Accounting Department by performing various administrative responsibilities and tasks, such as handling mail, invoices, petty cash, tracking and reporting expenses, and general office administration
- Maintains schedules and calendars for meetings and key deadlines
- Provides the accounting team with support to ensure efficient and accurate accounting operations
- Assists the department with various administrative and accounting transactional tasks
- Assists in creating, updating and maintaining forms and templates
- Organizes and files accounting documents/records
- Assists with data input, reporting
- Assists with documenting, automating and streamlining processes and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in an office in an administrative position
- Associate’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance, and/or appropriate balance of education and work experience
- 2 years’ experience in an accounting/business role – Non-Profit experience a plus
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel; good computer skills
- Solid math skills and strong familiarity with computer accounting software and bookkeeping practices
- Reliability, accuracy

preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with prior office/administrative experience
- Experience in an accounting department and accounting software preferred
